Suggested Use

• How calcium ascorbate in Alka-C Plus helps for individual with sensitive stomach?
• • The addition of calcium in calcium ascorbate neutralize the acidity of ascorbic acid, therefore it is more gentle to be consumed by individual with sensitive stomach. Nevertheless, this does not mean that it helps for curing or repairing the weakened stomach lining.

 

• Since body requires less than 100mg of vitamin C, which can be easily obtained from my diet, I do not need to consume 1000mg.
  • According to Malaysia’s Recommended Nutrient Intake (2017), 65-70mg of vitamin C is sufficient for general health maintenance. Studies indicate that higher doses up to 1000mg may benefit certain individuals, particularly in reducing the incidence, duration, and severity of the common cold, especially among those under high physical stress.

 

• Why is aspartame not added?
  • Aspartame, a sweetener found in many effervescent vitamin C products, has raised safety concerns among consumers, despite typically being within established daily intake limits. Alka-C Plus offers peace of mind by being completely free of aspartame.

 

• Where does the sweetness come from, since it is aspartame-free?
  • Alka-C Plus uses sucralose, a zero-calorie artificial sweetener.

 

• Is non-acidic Vitamin C as effective as regular Vitamin C?
  • Yes, and some studies has shown that non-acidic Vitamin C (calcium ascorbate) has higher bioavailability compared to regular vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Therefore, general population without gastritis concern may benefits from the formula as well.[1]
